Description

This webinar will discuss the advantages and obstacles that healthcare professionals face with early mobility (EM) in the acute care setting.  Acute care and ICU-acquired weakness impact a significant number of patients admitted to an acute care/ICU setting and can have long-lasting effects. In the last decade, early mobilization has emerged as an intervention to help prevent or to mitigate immobility-associated problems and improve functional outcomes for patients. This webinar will focus on the evidence and practical approaches for EM implementation as well as discussing the new SCCM PADIS Prevention Guidelines (Pain, Anxiety, Sedation, Delirium, Immobility, and Sleep Disruption) in relation to the ICU liberation bundle.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the advantages and obstacles to early mobility in acute care

  2. Discuss the ICU Liberation (A to F) Bundle in relation to the updated 2025 SCCM PADIS Prevention guidelines

  3. Discuss how evidence-based mobilization protocols can improve patient outcomes.
