This webinar reviews practical, evidence-informed strategies to preserve respiratory mechanics and optimize pulmonary function for critically ill patients on mechanical ventilation. Topics include timely, evidence-based progression toward ventilator and ICU liberation utilizing patient and evidence-based sedation avoidance and/or titration (RASS), ventilator modes that facilitate spontaneous breathing and mobility, airway clearance strategies diaphragm protection, and positioning strategies such as proning, verticalization, supine-to-sit that support oxygenation and recovery. Attendees will learn how to integrate early mobility, compression therapy, and ventilation adjustments to safely accelerate liberation from the ventilator and improve respiratory outcomes.
